- FINALLY FRIENDS dips below price of claim to career low with early speed so essential in these bottom-rung sprints. MALIBUR SURFER, a $200,000 buy now running for $10,000, has price slashed in half and sheds 5 lbs. with switch to hot apprentice. BARNICUS BAY made decent mid-race move when plummeted to this price. Needs speed duel to launch late kick.

- SHIMMERING RITA, always well bet, hangs on this time after carving out fractions. VICTORY MONEY, a beaten 3-2 favorite, was stuck between fillies in the slop and had to settle for third. BEACH PLUM JAM may have disliked slop; finished 8 3/4 lengths behind top pick.

- SWEET N NUTTY just missed by a neck when moved back into Navarro's care (24% winners). Drops in price to lifetime low. HATTA was claimed by Cibelli following three-wide journey; reverses finish with pacesetter BOBBIESQUEEN.

- REDHOTLION came up short as the 3-2 favorite from Post 10. Draws rail and gets the speed to chase down TIDAL WATERS and TRIPENDICULAR duel for the lead.

- BORDER, bred for grass, may have needed a race over the track. Improved with switch to lawn four starts ago. Gets some help if MANIS doesn't escape also eligibles. QUICKSTEP MELODY had to be steadied. TAHIMA has placed second in 4-of-8 races. Might be runnerup again.

- MY PLACE ANYTIME (BEST BET) is ready to win fourth straight race. Hasn't lost since moving into Belsoeur's stable (23% winners) three races ago and dropping in class. Trujillo (24% winners) stays aboard. TWO MOONS packed it in as might be expected after sizzling to the quarter in 21.71 and to the half in 44.42 at Saratoga. Threat if she can slow down pace. MS. LYDIAN won two of past 3 at Parx; drops back down.

- KNACK can handle slight climb in class the way he won latest. Overtakes drop-down RUNAWAY JIM, who was meeting better in N.Y. Beaten choice ALKE JOHN has been in the exacta in 5-of-9 races. Outside post diminishes chances.

- YO KOFFY became a winner with move into Cibelli stable nipping pacesetter GOTOGO BYE. KYLIES WILDCARD drops off claim. Had been faring better on dirt before move into grass events.

- JUST CHILLIN BOSS two-race, turf sprint winning streak ended in stakes test. Back down in class. Lures Trujillo off main threat IT'S TIME TO LAUGH, who has also won 2-of-past 3 grass dashes. QUITE A DUDE met better at Spa. Five-furlong turf specialists has won 4-of-11 races like this.

- By process of elimination, first-time starter COPPERLINE MISS looks best against weak field. BROOKLYN ROAD and FROILANA have some hope with drop in class. GUNNISON GIRL will wing it as far as she can on lead.
